Research Interests:

Kärin Nickelsen’s research focuses on the history of the experimental life sciences in the 19th and 20th century as well as on classical natural history around 1800. She is particularly interested in scientific model building and forms of individual as well as collective research methodologies. Besides investigating the internal dynamics of science, Kärin Nickelsen also works on botanical illustrations circa 1800.
